Male lipstick stimulates passion
It could be the most lip-smacking invention ever. A lipstick for men developed by NBRI, Lucknow reportedly delivers a huge sexual kick when applied.
According to Dr Shanta Mehrotra, Deputy Director of NBRI's Enthnopharmacology Division: "The male lip colouring was developed primarily as a mood enhancer and anti-depressant. The fact that it works just as well as a potent sexual stimulant is something of a bonus for us."
Scientists say that the effect is something akin to that induced by Viagra. Its anti-impotency properties, they say, are likely to benefit those with arousal problems. With the need for any other tablet, potion or cream removed, lovemaking is expected to become a much more pleasurable experience.
Laced with the subtle aroma of rose and jasmine, its makers are sure that the lipstick will in time become an essential passion accessory.
Despite the general incredulity that has greeted the invention, Dr Mehrotra insists the concept itself is nothing new. "Cosmetics for men have been around since ages. For example, the men of ancient Greece and Egypt used to bathe in rose water as a matter of routine. The fragrance was widely believed to enhance sex appeal," she says.
